Dr. Benjamin Cravatt is Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemical Physiology at the Scripps Research Institute , La Jolla, CA.

The Cravatt research group has developed activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) methods to assign function to enzymes in mammalian biology and disease. They also use ABPP to develop first-in-class inhibitors of enzymes, including those involved in nervous system signaling, inflammation, and cancer. In addition to multiple other awards and honors, Dr. Cravatt is a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
