Dr. Jie Luo is Professor in the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement at Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China.

His research group mainly investigates the genetic and biochemical bases of the metabolic diversity in major crops such as rice and maize, using combined approaches including metabolomics, genomics, genetics, and biochemistry.
In addition to these studies, they are working to integrate quantitative metabolomics into broader surveys of physiological and yield associated phenotypes and to characterize the link between metabolism and higher order phenotypes with the potential for metabolome-based crop improvement.
